The course aims to introduce to various aspects related to games’ design
and development. These currents will be studied in a multidisciplinary
context, including cultural and technical aspects.
Subdivisions or
modules:
• Introduction to a technological framework for games
development.
• Basic games elements, animation and physics.
•
Kinds of videogames.
• Theory of simulation and narratvity.
On completion of the course the student shall
• be able to give an
account of basic concepts, activities and praxis surrounding games’
design and development
• get a basic understanding of a game design
and development processes
• get a basic knowledge about game
elements, animation and physics applied in videogames
• be able to
give an account of the different kinds of existing videogames and how to
face the development process for each type
• be able to develop
different basic video games based on previous designs
• be able to
critically evaluate and analyze current approaches to game design in
order to evaluate, plan and perform the most suitable sequence of tasks
to complete a successful development.
