SASNET lunch lecture about a child rights project in India

In November 1989, the United Nations General Assembly decided on the International Convention on the Rights of the Child. This happened after some 50 years of discussions and work on writings. It is an important piece of international law. All countries has signed it and all but 2 countries has ratified this convention. It is interesting to follow and study in practical work how this law has been implemented and applied in countries all over the word. Lund university has been working with that in an international education programme since 2003, sponsored by SIDA. The programme has so far been training about 500 participants – or "Change Agents" as they are called – coming from 28 different developing countries all over the world: Asia, Africa and Latin-America. Every country has three change agents at a time and they are forming a country team working on and applying a specific Child Rights Project in their home school or town – in their own context.
