
Together with Nordic Yeast Research Community (NYRC), Geneco organizes a workshop on "Comparative Genomic and Evolution" in association with the NYRC 2010 meeting, at the Department of Biology, Biologihuset A, Sölvegatan 35, Lund.
Five international speakers are invited to the meeting: Teun Boekhout, Geraldine Butler, Bernard Dujon, Ed Louise and Ken Wolfe. These will be accompanied by several Scandinavian speakers. Any participants are welcome and register through Morten Kielland-Brandt mkb@bio.dtu.dk, who is responsible for the NYRC speakers program, not later than September 1st. Next generation sequencing is here! The Department of Biology at Lund University has recieved a grant from the Crafoord Foundation to set up a high-througput sequencing platform (454/Solexa).
To learn more about the pros and cons, possilbilities and challenges associated with these new techniques, Centre for Genomic Ecology and the Geneco Research School organized a workshop on "Next Generation Sequencing".
