My main study topic is genetic consequences of and mechansims behind inbreeding and inbreeding depression. This is done by using molecular markers, such as microsatellites and single nulceotide polymorphism (SNP). I also use different methods to estimate inbreeding, such as linkage mapping and linkage disequilibrium, heterozygosity-fitness correlations (HFC, extra-pair paternity (EPP) and population structures.
My main research species is blue tits, which I both study in a population on Revingehed, outside Lund, and in populations from other parts of Europe. In addition, some studies are performed on a captive population of zebra finches.
