Film- och mediaproduktion - Masterprogram, 120.0 hp

This Master s programme aims to strengthen the students knowledge and understanding in areas that are fundamental to the production of film, television and modern media within a contemporary and particularly European environment. For the most part, tuition and students activities will be located in Lund, although collaboration with the film cluster In the town of Ystad, one of four Swedish centres for feature film production and the home to the regional film authority, Film i Skåne, is well established. The programme encompasses modules centred on manuscript construction and the manuscript from the producer s point of view, film history, entertainment law and IPR (intellectual property rights), entrepreneurial studies and financing. Furthermore, it includes a period of internship within a professional environment. The programme will be taught by academic scholars as well as industry professionals. Members of the latter category will also be invited for regular guest spots. The forms of study involve lectures, seminars, case studies and projects, pursued either individually or among a group of students. As a final examination, the student will produce a Master s thesis. Even if students on the programme most often seem to have had their aims on a career in some part of the audiovisual industry, the degree can make the student eligible for a PhD programme, depending on his/her undergraduate background and the academic quality of the course work and the Master s thesis.
