Språk och språkvetenskap, Latin - Masterprogram, 120.0 hp

Lund University offers you a unique opportunity to pursue advanced studies in languages and linguistics at Master s level. The Centre for Languages and Literature offers students access to the most modern resources for research and education. You will meet and study together with students from 15 different fields of specialisation. The languages of instruction are English and the language corresponding to the field of your specialisation. As a Master s student, you will have the possibility of receiving funding for a stay abroad to conduct research on your Master s thesis through grants available from the Birgit Rausing Language Programme.

The specialisation in Latin comprises Classical Latin, Medieval Latin and Neo-Latin. In Lund, we are particularly strong in Neo-Latin and a number of theses have been written in the field in recent years. The breadth in linguistics is guaranteed by a number of taught courses that can be taken by students of all specialisations. Those of you who specialise in Latin take a number of courses in Latin language and literature. It is desirable that the subject of the Master s thesis is defined at an early stage to enable you to select courses that will facilitate your work with the thesis.

With a Master´s degree in Language and Linguistics, you are attractive for employers looking for a highly qualified individual with specialised knowledge in communication and language. An international MA in Language and Linguistics also provides you with the academic background you need in order to apply for doctoral studies in languages and linguistics.
