This course, for timpanists/percussionists, wants to develop your practical knowledge regarding timpani with emphasis on orchestral repertoire. Lessons will be given individually and in groups where interpretation, tone and technique are discussed and performed. Certain elements of the course will also give insight in the instruments function, for instance: service, tuning, skin change with tucking of calfskinheads, materials and making of timpanisticks.
