Sustainable Tourism Development, 7.5 hp

Sustainable tourism is one of the dominant paradigms in tourism studies. The course discusses the evolution of the concept and its theoretical roots. Within the field, the course focuses on issues related to resource use (water, energy, food), economic development, green business development, and consumer psychology. The course is built on the following elements: virtual lectures including Q&A with leading scholars in tourism & sustainability virtual guest lectures with representatives of leading tourism enterprises planning and participation in chat-room based discussions (small groups)
