Tuition fees are not currently charged in Sweden, this applies to both national and international students.
However, the Swedish government will introduce tuition fees for non-EU students from 2011 onwards. This will affect undergraduate and graduate (master) courses and programmes. PhD programmes will not be affected.
Students who have already started studying, before fees are introduced, will not be expected to pay fees when they are introduced.
The first students who will be expected to pay fees will be those applying for the 2011 academic year.
Students applying for master programmes starting in 2010 will not pay fees.
