To study as an exchange student in Sweden, you may need a residence permit or visa for the period that you will study, depending on which country you are a citizen in.

Students from EU/EEA Countries

EU: European Union

As an exchange student from an EU/EEA country you do not need a residence permit to come to Sweden. However, if you are staying for studies for more than 3 months you must register with the Swedish Migration Board no later than three months after your arrival to the country.
