To study in Sweden, for longer than 3 months, you may need a residence permit, depending on which country you are a citizen in.
You need a residence permit to study in Sweden. You must have this before you come to Sweden.
Students who need a residence permit are advised to apply as soon as they receive the notification of admission since it is important to have sufficient time to apply for your residence permit before the semester starts.
You do not need a residence permit before you arrive, if you come from an EU/EEA country. However, if you are studying for more than three months you must register with the Swedish migration board no later than three months after your arrival.
Applications for residence permits are processed by the Swedish Migration Board, not the university. The application is your responsibility and your admission letter from studera.nu is necessary in order to start the application process and for the Migration office to complete it.
