In English This is the second volume in Norstedt's eight-volume work "Sveriges Historia" (History of Sweden), the new standard work concerning Swedish history. The book deals with several issues of great importance to an understanding of the formation of the kingdom of Sweden in the high Middle Ages, such as the introduction of Christianity, the growth of early taxation, rudimentary urbanisation, the building of fortresses, the introduction of coinage, etc.
