Sammanfattning
This article deals with the situation in Denmark during the Second World War, reviewing the various revisions which have developed to undercut an entirely heroic reading. The article connects the somewhat ambiguous relationship of Danes to Jews in the interwar period to contemporary issues. In Denmark and elsewhere in Scandinavia, prejudice against Muslims and other immigrant has begun to challenge the Nordic reputation for tolerance and acceptance. It is suggested that lessons can and should be learned from the interwar period.
