The question of the concept of truth in the story of Pelagia,a hagiography about the repentent sinner Pelagia, and other hagiographical texts and in the New Testament is analyzed. It seems that the concept of truth is a rather simple one, and explicit assurances of truth is a sign of a not so trustworthy text.
