Summary, in English
This paper discusses the problem of tolerance management in the construction industry. Despite industrialized building having increased the demand for higher precision, the problem of tolerance management still occurs. Selecting appropriate tolerances is an optimization problem, where the cost of accuracy and the costs due to lack of tolerance need to be balanced. Problems of tolerance management, such as dimensional, aesthetic and functional, cause rework and additional costs. The purpose of the paper is to raise the importance of tolerance management and to identify problems. A study has been conducted in which representatives from the construction industry gave their views about problems with tolerance management. Based on the interviews, there is need for a deeper understanding about tolerances across the industry. The following four factors seem to be of particular interest: consequences, deviations, industrialization and management.
