An investigation has been made with the purpose to obtain information about evacuation capacity of various escape routes. Most of the data is although describing movement of people under normal conditions but some are coming from a test made to simulate fire and emergency situation. As a result of the investigation a number of diagrams are presented showing the walking speed and people flow in stairs, through doorways and on a horizontal surface depending on the density of the people. Recommendations are given for desig purpose of different evacuation routes.
