Lund University's students enjoy a unique social meeting place called a 'nation'. Somewhere between a student union and a social club, they are somewhere to eat, hang out, party and live. With 13 Nations spread across the city there's one for every taste and, with membership to one meaning entry to all, a unique opportunity to socialise and take part in Swedish student life.
It is not compulsory of be a member of a nation if you are an exchange student, but non membership means missing out on all the parties, and other activities, which the nations host. Master's students, and students coming to Lund outside of an exchange agreement, usually have to join a nation, and the union representing their education.
Fees are approximately 160-200 Swedish kronor (30 USD/22 EURO) a term (semester).
