The Pheromone group – insect chemical ecology

The Pheromone group was founded in 1978 by Jan Löfqvist. Over the years 25 PhD theses have been produced, and many researchers have visited for postdocs or shorter stays (see the alumni page to the left). Twice the group has split into two halves, when parts of the group have moved to the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) in Alnarp, 10 km west of Lund.

Currently the group consists of 15 members.

Are you interested in joining or visiting our research group? Please contact professor Christer Löfstedt (see right column) or professor Olle Anderbrant to discuss possible options.

For practical questions, like invoices, chemicals or shipping details, please contact the lab manager, Erling Jirle (see right column).

Administratively the Pheromone group belongs to the Department of biology, formed 1 Jan 2010 by merging four smaller departments, among them ecology. The administrative unit Functional zoology consists of the Pheromone group, the Vision group, the Cell proliferation group and groups doing research on animal physiology.

Between 1998-2011 the Pheromone group belonged to the Section of chemical ecology and ecotoxicology, and before that Animal ecology. See details about this on the history page up to the left; a page with the history of CEE, Department of ecology and the people who has worked there.
