Arkitektur

The world of today is growing more globally interlinked and connected, thus offering new challenges for architecture. These challenges concern everything from the densification of cities and sustainability, to threats related to extreme events and the environment. Lund University, located in the dynamic Copenhagen-Malmö region, is well known for its competence and knowledge, and offers superb resources for studying these matters in a broader context. The programme combines best practice with advanced research, thus educating students to become highly skilled professionals who are competitive at an international level.

Bioteknik

Biotechnology is a globally expanding area with respects to both research and production. Development within this field has the potential to contribute significantly towards a more sustainable society, and has an impact on issues such as health and pharmaceuticals, food production, waste water treatment and other environmental issues, as well as the production of chemicals. The Master’s in Biotechnology is a broad programme covering many different aspects of converting raw materials into products using biocatalysts (e.g. enzymes and microorganisms). Both the development of the biocatalyst and the conversion process are covered, as well as the role of biotechnology in a sustainable society.

Energi- och miljöeffektiva byggnader

Buildings are responsible for a large share of our global energy use. Energy use is in fact the main determinant of a building’s global environmental footprint, considering its total life span. Our students will graduate with advanced knowledge, skills and competencies within the area of energy-efficient and environmental building design in cold climates. Our goal is to train highly skilled professionals, who will significantly contribute to and influence the design, building or renovation of energy-efficient buildings, taking into consideration the architecture and environment, the inhabitants’ behaviour and needs, their health and comfort as well as the overall economy.

Livsmedelsteknik och nutrition

This programme is aimed at students who want to learn more about food and who want to work with innovative future foods, for instance as a part of the solution to major health issues such as malnutrition and obesity. The programme covers the design and production of foods with health benefits. You will learn about subjects such as food chemistry, food processing, surface and colloid chemistry, microbiology, nutrition and food analysis.

Hållbar stadsgestaltning

In the early 21st century, more people than ever before live in urban areas. The accelerating urbanization is one of the great challenges of our time and unchecked haphazard urbanization is a serious threat to both the environment and the social and economic balance. For urban design to be a sustainable and responsible practice, a dynamic education for architects and designers is necessary. Learning from culture and history, and searching together for new ways of designing, the Sustainable Urban Design programme at LTH, Lund University provides a leading education in this critical, architectural discipline.

Industridesign

In the Industrial Design Master’s programme you will be focusing on three themes: Living & Behaviour, Form & Technology or Man & Nature. The curriculum will consist of individual industrial design projects, workshops and additional theoretical course subjects. You will participate in and contribute to the creation of knowledge within the field of design. By organising exhibitions, seminars and workshops you will communicate your work and participate in the public debate.

System på chips

System-on-Chip offers a wide perspective, where digital and analogue design is regarded as one unit in which different domains interact. The focus is on CMOS, where billions of devices are used to build a system on a single silicon die. The programme spans areas from radio frequency (RF) circuits through to data conversion and digital circuits.

Vattenresurshantering

Safe water and sanitation are fundamental to human development. Having access to clean water is the corner stone for improving healthcare, increasing food supply, reducing child mortality rates, and enhancing people’s overall quality of life. As challenges around population growth and climate change continue to mount, it has also become increasingly important to develop technologies that can supply more clean water, while minimising the environmental impacts. These are the issues we tackle and attempt to find solutions to in our research and together with our students.

Trådlös kommunikation

The Master’s programme in Wireless Communication prepares students for an exciting career within a rapidly expanding industry. The University has excellent resources in the area of wireless communication, and can offer students the opportunity to learn from world-leading researchers, in state-of-the-art laboratory facilities. The programme focuses on the physical and lower layers of wireless communication.
