Project support from the Crafoord Foundation
The project The Archaeoogy of Time Travel -between materiality and virtuality has been granted 1 million Swedish crowns from the Crafoord Foundation for a period of 2 years to see the relationship between time travels made with the aid of material remains and time travels made with the help of digital technology. The project is performed in close collaboration with three different museums and museum centres in Sweden, Denmark and Norway. In Sweden we cooperate with the Lund University Historical Museum, in Denmark with Lejre – Land of Legends, and in Norway with the Lofotr Viking Museum. At these places the performed past made with material stuff is to be integrated with attemts to present the past with the aid of digital technology. To run this project we have employed a couple of technicians to plan for the integration of digital techniques and its contents into the daily business at the museums/centres. When this takes place, an evaluation is tobe made of how itworks out. The whole projct will be published in scientific articles.The project period runs from the 1st of September, 2009 to the 31st of August, 2011.
