It’s always fascinating to watch a flying insect, manoeuvring through the air and finally landing on a gently rocking flower or upside-down in the ceiling. How is that possible?
To answer at least part of that question I started my PhD in Lund 2009. My aim is to study the landing manoeuvres of several different insects, and compare them. I’ll try to figure out what sensory input the insects rely on, and how they behave if that input is deprived or manipulated. I also plan to study how insects use vision to regulate their flight speed, and how their behaviour is affected under low light levels.
I have studied biology in Lund and did my masters thesis within the Lund vision group.
