After the party - Who is the future superhero researcher?

Sweden invests a lot of money in research and education. And every year, in springtime hundreds of new PhDs enter Lund’s Cathedral in order to be promoted and awarded for their doctorate. But what happens after the salute and the big party? Where do they go, and what do they do? Based on the book Efter festen (After the party), edited by Sara Eldén and Anna Jonsson, we will discuss the, often un-heard, voice of the post-doc researcher and why this voice needs to be heard. The book identifies a number of challenges that the post-doc researcher faces, but also a number of skills that appear necessary for how to develop from doctor to associate professor. The discussion aims to contribute to an understanding of the current academic structure and culture – what academia is (and should be) and what academics do (and should be doing), and why we matter.
Welcome!
The workshop is held by two of the authors of the above mentioned book, Anna Jonsson, Associate professors in Business administration at LUSEM and Peter Svensson, Associate professors in Business administration at LUSEM and the Director of Research and PhD Programme at Dept. of Business administration.
