LUBIRC Breakfast Seminar – Henning Gillberg

For the last LUBIRC Breakfast Seminar of 2020, we will hear from Henning Gillberg, the founder and CEO of the clothing repair start-up Repamera AB in Malmö. The aim of the company is to encourage consumers to consider repairing, rather than buying new. In 2017, Repamera founded the social movement Circular Monday. The day was invented to be in stark contrast with Black Friday, as a day to instead promote circular consumption. From 2017-2019 it was called White Monday, but changed “White” to “Circular” during 2020 to make clearer the message of the movement. The initiative is run purely by volunteer forces, but despite this has grown from a local initiative to an international movement. During the seminar Henning will talk to us about his experiences and thoughts about both the initiative and the wider circular economy.
