The role of satellite remote sensing in monitoring the global environmental and climate change
Docent (associate professor) lecture by Dr. Zheng Duan in physical geography.
Our environment and climate are changing all over the world. Satellite remote sensing are providing evidences of global environmental and climate change. This Docent lecture will introduce the basics of satellite remote sensing, and explain how satellite remote sensing works in monitoring key essential climate variables (e.g. sea level, glacier and ice). The contribution of satellite remote sensing to recent discoveries on climate change will be presented. The lecture will end with discussion on current limitations of satellite remote sensing and future solutions.
The lecture will be given by zoom. Please contact the lecturer for meeting ID and password.
