Webinar: A Safe Ride Research Journey
Guest Professor Torbjörn Falkmer is honoured and happy to share his PhD journey, which was done within The Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute and Social Medicine at Linköping University.
Torbjörn Falkmer is a Guest Professor at the Department of Health Sciences, Lund University and Professor Emeritus of Curtin University in Perth, Western Australia.
The aim of his research is a realisation of the UN sanctioned right every child has, regardless of any disability or condition, namely to travel safely on our roads. Torbjörn is one of too few burnin for this mission. Some are OTs, others are engineers; some are physicians, others are judicially trained; some are PTs, others are nurses; some are professional drivers but the vast majority are parents left high and dry.
The webinar will cover numerous research project, perhaps best described in the following literature review: Road vehicle transportation of children with physical and behavioral disabilities: A literature review (27:5, 309-322).
Following upon Torbjörn’s presentation, Dr Melissa Black from Curtin University in Australia will present the latest research in this area, entitled ‘Safe Ride, the current situation in Australia’.
