Julia Karla is fascinated by natural processes and cycles - photosynthesis\, pollination\, precipitation\, grow th. Informed by these natural systems\, Wet Star in the Desert contemplate s the links between what humans create and what we are created by. \;M oving between scales\, from seeds and soil to atmosphere and sun\, Wet Sta r in the Desert considers the interplay between natural and artificial sys tems. Rather than presenting isolated works\, the exhibition unfolds a net work of interconnected conditions in which materials\, forms and processes continue to echo and affect one another.The exhibition features installat ion\, sculpture and text-based works\, with further site-specific sculptur al works around Malmö.Julia Karla (b. 1996) is a multidisciplinary artist based between Malmö and Copenhagen. Working with a variety of media\, he r practice explores the relationship between naturality and artificiality. Julia Karla graduates from the Masters programme at Malmö Art Academy in 2026. She previously completed a BFA at Bergen Art Academy where she also studied on exchange at ENSAPC\, Paris. She has been awarded grants by The Edstrandska Foundation and William Demant Foundation.
