Drama Performance: My Life
"My Life" is back on tour in Sweden during September–October 2019. As of this year, the drama performance has been performed to more than 100 000 people in Sweden.
The actors are children and youth from Dandora, a suburb of Nairobi, Kenya. There you find one of the largest dump sites of Africa. The young actors perform their everyday life in the streets and the vulnerability of girls. But you will also experience togetherness, creativity, joy and faith in the future. The script is written together with children and youth living in Dandora and other suburbs in Nairobi. The language is English.
My Life is performed in schools, universities, prisons, and culture centres, and is often the start of seminars on themes such as Internationalization of the education, The Sustainable Global Goals, The Rights of the Child and Human Rights.
After the performance the floor is open for discussions and interaction between the actors and the audience.
The five members of the cast are:
- Grace Wacuka 13 years,
- Daniel Njuguna 13 years,
- Jenipher Akinyi 25 years,
- Jackson Obura 25 years,
- Joseph Ochieng 26 years.
Two actors from Globetree/Globetheater join the tour and lead the interactive discussions after the performance.
