How can we teach students to work transdisciplinary as professionals?

Seminarium
Today, transdisciplinary work and collaborative knowledge production seem to be the answer to many of the major challenges society faces such as climate change, migration and globalisation. Yet, many students are not equipped with the skills necessary to work productively with other stakeholders during their time at University.
Welcome to a seminar and discussion hosted by Mistra Urban Futures Skåne in collaboration with Lund University Centre for Sustainability Studies, LUCSUS on how to best teach and educate students to work as transdisciplinary professionals.

Dr. Zarina Patel, a researcher from University of Cape Town in South Africa, will present her work concentrating on sustainable development at the city level and the gap between policy and practice.

During the seminar, focus will be placed on the skills and competences needed to foster professionals who work at the interface of academia and society. We will also discuss how transdisciplinarity can be used as a more general approach in university teaching.

All students, University staff and those from outside of academia with an interest in transdisciplinary research and education are welcome to attend.
