USV:s Seminarium with Peter Taylor, Professor of Human geography at the School of the Built and Natural Environment, Northumbria University
"Indisciplinarity in social science: Immanuel Wallerstein and Jane Jacobs?, Professor Peter Taylor. In his work on globalisation, Peter Taylor has come to the view that for social science what we need is not interdisciplinary research, nor multidisciplinary research, nor trans-disciplinary research, but a more simple indisciplinary approach to research. His two guides are Immanuel Wallerstein and Jane Jacobs; their main (and very different) contributions are to understanding economic processes, and yet neither is an économist´. Thus indisciplinarity is in subject matter, but we need to be disciplined in our methods.
