Summary, in English

Purpose of this paper
The purpose is twofold: to map the reviewers’ perspective of evaluation of case based

logistics and supply chain management research; and to develop a framework with all

criteria needed to design, conduct, and present rigorous case study research. This

framework can be used by both researchers and reviewers.
Design/methodology/approach
An interview study is performed to establish how reviews currently are being conducted in

logistics and supply chain management journals. A literature review in combination with a

both divisive and agglomerate cluster analysis is applied to develop the framework. The

framework is compared to the evaluation criteria provided by reviewers.
Findings
There is an expressed need for a more structured and systematic review process for case

based articles. An established framework for evaluation of case based research does not

exist. There is a lack of standardized terminology in the field. A comprehensive framework

for case based research is developed and presented.
Research limitations/implications
The research is focused on case studies only.
What is original/value of paper?
This paper present both the reviewers perspective on case study evaluation and it provides

a comprehensive framework for all steps of a rigorous case based research process

including what aspects that should be included and recommendations for how and why

certain aspects should be included.
