The Influence from SCMs on Salt Frost Scaling of Concrete Structures - Minimum Required Air Content and effect from Carbonation

Författare

Summary, in English

The goal for this PhD thesis is to evaluate the effect different SCMs has on the salt frost scaling resistance regarding air content required in well hydrated carbonated and non-carbonated concrete which contains admixtures. To evaluate this, freeze-thaw scaling tests, image analysis of the air void structure in hardened concrete, measurements with an air void analyser and low-temperature calorimetry will be performed. The results should link the required air content, and air void system created, for each binder when using a combination of superplasticizer and air entraining agent for the concrete to be considered salt frost scaling resistant.
