Summary, in English

The text of the Skara Missal Compared to Other Liturgical Sources. A large number of printed sources have been consulted and compared with Skara Missal on a quntitative as well as qualitative basis; individual characteristics as well as the evident concordance with many identical readings have been noted and compiled. On the basis of comparisons of various paryers and prefaces it may first of all be concluded that the Skara Missal is related to a group of sacramentaries called by Klaus Gamber "Das stadtrömische "Sacramentarium mixtum" des 7/8 Jahrhunderts (T-Typus). These sacramentaries were based on the Gregorianum but also included other, Gelasian traits. The prefaces can for instance be traced back to an old collection of Gelasian prefaces. Certain special variants indicated that the model of the sacramentary section of the Skara Missal may have come from Corbie/St. Amand. Further, several distinctive common traits in the melodic material have been noted as being similar to those of the Winchester Missal (HBS 93), written in the latter half of the 11th century. These variants make it plausible that the Skara and the Winchester Missal respectively may have had the same antiphonary/gradual as a model. The Skara Missal is in all probability a compilation, just as the Winchester Missal, which means that it belongs to the first generation of complete missals.

The Skara Missal, then, is most likely a compilation of a gradual from Corbie, also used for the compilation of the Winchester Missal, and a sacramentary of the T-type, probably originating from Saint-Amand.
