Hans Bredow Institute for Media Research at the University of Hamburg is currently conducting a study on behalf of the Swiss Government (Swiss Federal Social Insurance Office, BSV) to identify good practice approaches regarding the protection of minors in the field of media. During the project, we will analyse current policy and regulation practices in 12 countries (Netherlands, Poland, Denmark, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Austria, Germany, France, Italy, Australia, Slovenia and Norway. Moreover, the present system of Switzerland will be included in the comparative analysis). Scope of the country experts will be to write a concise description on the countrie’s regulation of protection of minors following a given structure (regulatory approach, institutional setting, accompanying measures. This is the country report from Sweden, writen by Karl Dahlstrand (Lund University).
