Aj! Det gör on-! : interjektioner i det japanska språket

Författare

  • Douglas Jern

Summary, in English

Interjections are a group of some of the more overlooked words in the field of linguistics. Many people see them as meaningless noise or non-words without purpose. It follows that many people consider them to be completely instinctive utterances which we can use freely. The flaw in this argument becomes clear when one looks at a language other than one's native language, as the interjections often differ considerably between languages.
This essay seeks to provide a clear definition of the term interjection, and to compare a few common Swedish interjections to their Japanese counterparts, the purpose of this being to highlight the similarities and differences between the interjections of the two languages. In addition, a study of the use of adjectival bases as interjections in the Japanese language will be made. Which adjectival bases can be used, and what factors determine which ones that can be used, will be investigated. A tentative proposition of these interjections used indirectly will also be made.
