Summary, in English

This study seeks to determine the diversity within the group of experts in the swedish television news; Aktuellt , Rapport , Sportnytt and Kulturnyheterna . The study also aims to better understand how journalists choose these experts and reflect over the diversity within the group. The method is therefore divided into a quantitative content analysis and an interview study. The content analysis of 25 broadcasts showed that 52 experts appeared in total. Of those 77 % were men, 90 % were white and 92 % spoke swedish fluently, none of the experts displayed any form of disability. The interviews with one journalist from each editorial office indicated that they often contact the same experts due to tight deadlines. It also emerged that the journalists prefered experts who had previous experience from television. Finally our study identifies that journalists believe that their colleagues share how they view and work with diversity, but that is not the case. The result of the study is discussed based on the gatekeeping-theory, an intersectional-perspective and the theory of media logic.
