¿Sexismo o liberación femenina? Un análisis feminista de dos canciones del álbum Motomami de Rosalía
Författare
Summary, in English
The purpose of this thesis is to propose some feminist tools to study possible sexism in the album Motomami (2022) by Rosalía. In order to achieve the purpose, the most controversial songs and music videos of the album are critically analyzed: “Saoko” and “Hentai”. Both textual and visual aspects are analyzed. The analysis itself is connected to feminist literature. Additionally, it studies how Rosalía has changed as an artist since her album El mal querer. The results of the feminist analysis show that sexual content in the lyrics and music videos can be seen as both sexist and female liberation, depending on the feminist theory defended. The sexual content of Motomami, according to radical feminism, tends to be seen as sexist, while liberal sexual theories see it as liberating. Rosalía as an artist has moved towards an increasingly sexualized image; Feminism is present in both El mal querer and Motomami, but they are expressed in different ways. El mal querer is based on radical feminism, while Motomami is permeated with more sexually liberal feminist theories.
